Update: July 16, 2020 — Physical Location Closed Through Sept. 15

Dear ASB Community:

On Wednesday, Governor Wolf signed an executive order outlining statewide COVID-19 mitigation efforts that went into effect today, July 16. This order requires all businesses to continue virtual operations or telework if they are able. In response to this order, Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired has decided to continue remote training to help ensure the safety of our staff and program participants. Our physical location will remain closed through September 15th. We will continue to provide education and training through our online and phone programming, and we will reassess the status of our operations come September.

The good news is that through our virtual and telephone sessions, we’ve been able to continuously serve hundreds of people through technology education, life skills training, braille training, and social and support programming.

I understand that September may sound distant, but I am so proud of how we have all stayed connected as a community through digital means, and I am confident we will continue to do so. As our remote journey continues, we are expanding and fine-tuning our remote offerings. We have exciting updates coming down the pike to look forward to, including new video and webinar programs. Our main focus, as always, is to keep you safe while providing you with a diverse line-up of classes and support resources.

We thank you for your flexibility and encourage you to reach out with any questions and keep us updated on how you are doing.

Be well,
Karla S. McCaney, President & CEO
